Hanne Peeraer is an interdisciplinary artist, coach and researcher working at the intersection of perception, neuroaesthetics and meaning-making. She works in various disciplines to translate complexity into something real and felt.
Her artwork connects perception, cognitive science, and nature to look at the relationship between illusion and meaning-making. Through magic, light, and sensation, she explores the psychology of analytical thinking and uses her intuition to find new ways for her pieces to reveal complex scientific structures.
As an integration coach and learning consultant in higher education, Hanne uses a systems thinking approach to build new ways for students to thriveโhelping them feel emboldened, aligned, and courageous, while deepening trust in themselves and in the connection between their inner world and external learning.
Hanneโs creative urge started when having to heal from mourning in early life, and her work today acts as a similar counterforce to the cynicism and resignation that we feel when facing of uncertain futures. Her art uses materials that capture or reflect their environment; translucent paper, frosted glass, light-refracting prisms. The goal is for them to become signifiers of knowledge and meaning that heighten perceptual awareness and self-reflection: an invitation to feel the urgency and call to action in a way that diagrams and data cannot.
